Me and Technology

Imagen
Hello everyone, in today’s post I’m going to talk about my favorite piece of technology. First of all my relationship whit technology is not very good. But I saw myself in need to improve for my future profession.    I'm currently studying theater design where we use various programs what Photoshop, Sketchup, Illustrator, etc. Where do I use the graphic tablet which helps me a lot in my projects since it gives me a variety of tools that allows me to come up with a result more professional. For example, the graphic tablet I have is a Wacom Intuos, this includes a program to draw with a variety of pencils or brushes that allows generating different textures. This helps me to make sketches of costumes, lighting, and scenography. I also use it to make illustrations as a hobby. I definitely recommend it, as it allows me to come up with a better result and saves me a lot of work time compared to doing it analogously.  Technology delivers us excellent tools for our life, b...

Day whit my friends

Imagen
Hello everyone again. Today I am here to talk about a great memory, this was not a long time ago, in fact, it happened this year. If I remember this correctly it was during my winter holidays at the end of June. Along whit my neighbors who are also good friends of mine from many years ago, but whit the pandemic we got closer since they were great emotional support for me Together we made the decision to do something different from what we used to and also for all the confinement of that time we wanted to go somewhere whit nature, with this idea on our minds we chose a place to go during the day near Santiago and we arrived at the Parque Natural Aguas de Ramon, which is quite far from Maipú where we live, but we were still willing to go. The day arrived, each one prepared her packed lunch and we left early to make the most of the day. We arrived at the park where we trekked along a route that was easy, but we didn’t expect it to be so long and difficult to do. But we got to beautiful...

Bruges

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I will talk about a place I would love to visit. This city is called Bruges, which is located in the north of Belgium and is the capital of the province of West Flanders. I am interested in visiting this city because of the impressive architecture it has, which is mainly from the medieval period. Some of them were rebuilt, but still preserving the same line of epoque.  Another of the main attractions of this place are its beautiful canals that cross the city, besides thanks to the bridges they have, you can go all over them. Due to this, people assimilate this city whit Venice, even calling it the Northern Europe Venice.  I would like to be able to go to the historic center of the city where the XIV century town hall is located, which has a spectacular ornamental carved ceiling and with impressive paintings around the walls that tell important events in the history of Bruges. This location for its protection to the legacy was declared a Wor...

My favorite Subject

Imagen
For me, this was my first term online, which has been complex because my degree is based mainly on practical subject, such as technologies, but I was looking for a way to put together all the theory in the field and we hope to put it into practice soon This subject consists mainly of the use of theater implements such as lighting bulbs, consoles to handle these lights, mountable stages, etc. So that semester we saw characteristics of the different bulbs that we can find in theaters so that when we have to design the lights we know which one corresponds to generate the effect we are looking for, but it is still difficult for us to understand without seeing them in person as it should be. I am quite interested in this subject since for me the light in the theater is a very relevant factor that generates atmospheres and completes the design and if we can understand the equipment to generate this light we can reach a better result in our design proposals.

Culture in Society

Imagen
I find it hard to think how theater design could affect the world and contribute to it, but I have always thought that culture, in general, is a fundamental part of our development as humans since it gives us an enjoyment that allows us to get away even for a moment from our lives and generates a new view of the world. What I think the most is that when I was little I expected so much the activities of  "Santiago a Mil"  in January since it was time to see large-scale shows for free. since during the rest of the year I did not have access to something like that and I saw how these were distributed in various areas of Santiago including the most popular neighborhoods that have access to culture in general and it was incredible to see how all those people participated sometimes without understanding it but they were still there with the whole family enjoying themselves.  I think that delivering culture regardless of social class is very important for the development o...

Anna Viebrock

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I come to talk about Anna Viebrock, who is a great costume designer and set designer within the theater and the opera. For me her work is of great reference and that I admire a lot. Viebrock was born on August 3, 1951, in the city of Colonia, Germany. She is the daughter of an Austrian-Hungarian mother and a German father, her first studies were in art and philosophy in her hometown, then between 71 and 77 she studied Scenography at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Karl Kne, had their daughter in 1976. Mainly her work goes hand in hand with the director Christoph Marthaler since the 90s, working in numerous theaters and operas such as the Basel Theater, the Volksbühne in Berlin, the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the Opera of Frankfurt the Paris Opera, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festiva l, the Vienna Festival, the Festival d'Avignon, and the Schauspielhaus Zürich. Which led her to be awarded 17 times with the "Set Designer of the Year...

Significant photography

Imagen
I share this very significant photo for me, as it was one of my first trips to a place other than where I live since the pandemic began in 2020. I had this outing thanks to a great friend who invited me to her house in Batuco, with her we were always in contact and she knew how affected I was with the confinement and the daily routine. Because of this, he took me for a walk with his partner to this beautiful wetland where we spent a very pleasant afternoon that helped us to change air and be able to stay even a few hours out of the routine and the advantage of being such a wide place that allows us to keep the distance that was needed for the pandemic situation.  This photo was taken by me, I know it's twisted but I don’t care because it is very important for me to be in nature even for a few hours and to be able to feel a different air and see these beautiful colors that were produced in the water.
